Awn

Delay the startup by a few seconds

Registered by Nandan Vaidya

Since Avant-Window-Navigator requires the use of a compositing window manager like Compiz, sometimes it creates a slight problem when Compiz takes a little while longer than AWN to initialise at startup
To alleviate this problem, I currently use a small script which sleeps for 10 seconds before starting up AWN. This allows Compiz to startup and hides the horrid textures that are otherwise seen due to this delay.

I would like to propose that this delay be introduced in the program itself or maybe use the bash script I mentioned above to indirectly launch the AWN binary ( the way I do it ).

Whiteboard

There will be non-composite support in Awn starting with 0.4, so this will not be implemented. (malept, 2009/09/13)

A wait for composite is implemented when Awn is started with the "--startup" option. (mhr3, 2010/08/19)
