Disk labels as Plugger labels

Registered by Dirk

Currently the Stack Plugger applet displays the physical name of my USB thumb drive, something that includes the manufacturer's name and some numbers. Pretty meaningless. It would be better if it would display "sdb1" if it is /dev/sdb1 or, even better, "thing" if it is mounted as /media/thing.

Whiteboard

I just checked the data that the Stacks Plugger keeps in gconf. It actually memorizes each plugged device by its UUID, so we can set labels specific to the device. That's good. On the other hand, I have to repeat things like the icon size for every disk I plug in. Some default settings that get inherited would be helpful.

The title field is a bit strange. When I plug in a USB hard drive, the label of the plugger icon will match the disk label and the mount point (/media/whatever). Would be nice if USB thumb drives would work in the same way.

Furthermore, it would be nice if there were a way to open a file manager for the whole thing. If the popup display folders (/media/whatever/abc) I can click and get abc opened in a file manager. How about clicking on the title of the popup to open the root of the plugged device (/media/whatever) in a file manager?
