Some wireless installations (venues) may be made of multiple devices (nodes). As such, the venues are higher-level, should contain information for name, address, geo-location, etc. while the devices are more low-level (gateway_id, device information, etc.)

Should this be part of the core? Or in a plugin?
It is quite important and the difference between device and venue is a centric one. But some networks like ours, have mostly one venue = one device... But if it goes in the core, venue and device would be edited on the same page...
