Currently, ceilometer supports three kinds of notifier: log, rest, trust. ONLY rest and trust notifier are recommended for an production environment and trust notifier is usually used by heat auto scale function. If user already have a monitor system which used snmp protocol and can support to receive snmp notifications, they may need a snmp notifier in ceilometer.
