select sound card
it would be nice to have the applet choose a sound card since i often use the computer with headphones and leave them on the desk. possible send to all cards would work also.

Although I see the problem, it seems to me that this is an issue which somehow has to be handled by the sound server (pulseaudio). I'm not sure it's even possible to select which sound output to use on the application level in pulseaudio...?
JNP 13Dec2015: If pulseaudio can't do it currently, pulseaudio needs to be modified to offer this feature. Alarm clock is mostly useless unless it change the sound output to a known good output path. I frequently plug in headphones or change my master volume level or switch between the internal card and HDMI output. What I'd like to see is some way to snapshot a sound output configuration and temporarily restore it at alarm time. What good is an alarm clock if it doesn't ring predictably with 100% reliability?
