Address space by space name, not space number

Make it possible to address spaces by space names, not space numbers. Store the aliasing information on the server, in an aux space, and cache it on the client.
Got to go hand in hand with authentication, since we need to store some sort of version number on the client to be able to see that our version of metadata cache is correct.
